Read these columns twice
Door aperture, not internal height
On a standard-height box the doorway clears 2.28m while the roof inside is 2.39m. Header boards, a ute canopy or a stack of bagged fertiliser on a pallet have to pass the 2.28m figure. The high cube's door clears 2.58m, and that extra 30cm is usually why someone buys one.
2.35m wall to wall
Enough for a ute or a ride-on, but the doorway is narrower than the box, so measure across the mirrors. Shelving down one wall leaves roughly a metre and a half to walk in, not to work in.
Pallet count assumes standard pallets, loaded tight
The pallet column is a forklift-loaded, wall-to-wall figure. Hand-stacked feed, drums on a bund or a workbench down one side all bring it down.
A 40ft costs about a third more than a 20ft, not double
That is why hay, seed and fertiliser storage so often ends up 40ft long. The trade-off is placement: the sidelifter needs a long straight approach and roughly 30m to work. Details on the 40ft page.
