Shipping containers Tingoora
A small village on the Bunya Highway with the rail corridor running past it and grain country either side. Tingoora deliveries are mostly farm and small-holding work, with the odd village block, and the runs are short and predictable.

What Tingoora orders
Typical Tingoora jobs: seed, fertiliser and bagged product storage on the cropping ground, fencing and general farm storage on the mixed blocks, workshop and machinery parts lock-ups, secure storage on the village allotments where sheds are small or old, and hay storage on the grazing country back off the highway. Tell us what is going in and roughly where the box will sit at Tingoora; the grade and the vehicle follow from those two answers.
| Part | Used from | New from |
|---|---|---|
| 10ft Containers | $4,350 | $6,400 |
| 20ft Containers | $2,200 | $3,300 |
| 40ft Containers | $2,600 | $5,500 |
Listed prices are floors, ex GST, and grade moves them more than length. Cartage to Tingoora is part of the quoted total.
Short runs and what that does to the price
Freight is a real component of a container price and it scales with distance, so Tingoora sits in the comfortable band — close enough to Kingaroy that the cartage is modest, far enough out that the properties have room for an easy placement.
That combination makes it one of the better places in the district to buy a 40ft, because the two things that usually push people towards a 20ft — expensive freight and constrained access — are both mild here.
As always the cartage is quoted with the unit as a single figure. Nothing turns up on a separate invoice afterwards.
Knowing which soil your track sits on
The country through here changes type over surprisingly short distances, and the difference matters on a delivery day after rain. Lighter ground sheds water and firms up quickly. The heavier patches stay soft below a dry-looking surface and that is where trucks get into trouble.
Most people who farm the block already know which is which. If you do, say so when you ring — it is more useful than any general question we could ask.
Where there is doubt, placing on the shed apron and moving the container later with a tractor removes the risk entirely for the cost of ten minutes.
Access notes — Tingoora
The Bunya Highway makes the approach simple and the complications, such as they are, sit close to the destination. In the village itself the older allotments have narrow side access and a few sheds built right up to the boundary, which means the useful measurement is the gap between structures rather than the width of the gate. On the farming side, access is generally good and the surfaces near the sheds will take a sidelifter, but the country here carries a mix of soil types over a short distance and it is worth knowing which one your access track sits on. The lighter ground drains and recovers quickly; the heavier patches hold moisture well after the surface has dried and will find a loaded vehicle. The rail corridor is the other local feature to plan around — where a property's access crosses it, the crossing rather than the driveway decides what can come in, and that is a question to settle before a truck is booked. Otherwise this is a short, uncomplicated run from Kingaroy and it prices accordingly.
Once the local notes are dealt with, the remaining checks are the same on any block — surface, straight run, overhead. Photos of each answer them faster than a site visit. See the access guide.
Tingoora — questions on file
What does it cost to get a container to Tingoora?
Less than most of the district, because it is a short run up the Bunya Highway from Kingaroy. The cartage is quoted together with the container as one number, so what you are told is what you pay. Guide prices start at $2,200 ex GST for a used 20ft and $3,300 for a new single-trip.
Can I get a 40ft in here?
Usually, and Tingoora is a better place for it than many. The short freight run and the room on most farm properties mean the two things that normally argue against a 40ft are both mild here. What it still needs is a long straight approach and roughly 30m of working room for the sidelifter.
My access crosses the rail corridor. Does that change anything?
It can, and it is the first thing to raise. Where a property's access crosses the corridor, the crossing rather than the driveway sets what vehicle can come in. Tell us before a truck is booked and we will work out the approach from there rather than discovering it on the day.
